Mary Dimino Stars in Scared Skinny Opening August 13th at FringeNYC 2010

Scared Skinny, a one (hundred pound lighter) woman show written by and starring 2010 MAC Award Winning Comedian, Mary Dimino opens August 13th at Tom Noonan’s Paradise Factory as part of the 13th Annual New York Fringe Festival. Produced by Michael Roderick and Small Pond Entertainment, the show will be directed by Lisa Milinazzo.

As a flabby, funny and fearful kid growing up in a dysfunctional Italian American family from Queens, Mary Dimino’s sausage and pepper sandwich lunches made her stand out from her peers, but so did her mother’s fear that playing in a sandbox could give her venereal disease. Still dictated by bizarre fears and body issues at age 26 she finally attempted to fulfil the prophecy foretold by her Ouija board at age 8; that she would one day be thin! Now one hundred and fifteen pounds later, this award winning comedienne tells the hilarious and perilous journey behind her remarkable achievement. Come, laugh your fat off.

Scared Skinny will play at Tom Noonan’s Paradise Factory (64 E. 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) beginning Friday, August 13th. The performance schedule is as follows:
Friday, August 13th at 7PM,
Saturday, August 14th at 3PM,
Sunday, August 15th at 5PM,
Tuesday, August 17th at 9:30PM,
Thursday, August 19th at 9:30PM and
Saturday, August 21st at 5PM.
Running time is one hour, 17 minutes. Tickets are $15. For reservations go to www.FringeNYC.org. For more information go to www.scaredskinny.com.
