Get Super Shoulders with the Arnold Press Print E-mail

This exercise won’t make you look like the famous bodybuilder it’s named after, but it will help you work all three shoulder muscles at once.

You need strong shoulders for everything from your tennis game to reaching overhead shelves. Front and side raises are fine, but there's a great way to work your entire shoulder with one exercise instead of two.

It's called the Arnold press, and just because it's named for a legendary bodybuilder doesn't mean you'll end up with shoulders like his. Here's how to do it: While seated, hold a dumbbell in each hand in front of your shoulders, palms facing in. Press the weights toward the ceiling, gradually turning your wrists until your palms face away at the top of the movement. Slowly turn your wrists back toward you as you lower to starting position.
