Some of us could spend an eternity doing crunches and never have a six-pack to show for it, because it turns out that genetics plays a major role in how our abdominal muscles look. Scientists say that in order to get a ripped midriff, your body has to be predisposed to carry an extremely low percentage of fat in that area. Although we'd all love to believe that if we only worked hard enough, we'd have washboard abs, unfortunately, many of us simply did not hit that genetic jackpot. Nevertheless, you can definitely work with, and improve upon, what you have. For best results, train your abs just like any other muscles. Work them every other day (doing 3 to 5 sets of 10 to 15 repetitions), and work them like you mean it, but give them a day of recovery time. Trackback(0)

We all have 6-pack abs - some of us just have them under several layers of fat.
