You don't have to be a gym rat to practice good physical health.

Finding it difficult to make time for exercise? Join the club! While we all know how important regular exercise is to our health, many people simply cannot find an extra hour each day to include a workout.

Well, guess what? You don't have to! The health benefits of exercise are not found exclusively in the gym...

but in your everyday life. Below are some ideas of how to sneak fitness into each day:

Dinner and a movie...again? Instead of the same old Saturday night standby, why not try bowling or mini-golf? Whether with friends or family, these activities are always amusing and burn more calories than you might realize!

Catching up with a friend on the phone? Talk and walk -- up and down the stairs, or do a quick set of 8-12 lunges while gossiping.

Need to speak with a co-worker? Get up from your desk and walk over. Not only will you burn some extra calories but you may be surprised how a quick stroll can refresh you and get the blood flowing in your legs again.

Going out for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat? Instead of your favorite spot, walk a few extra minutes and discover a new shop to try. After all, variety is the spice of life!

Wish TV commercials didn't take so long? Use the few minutes to "squeeze" in some sit-ups, leg lifts or jumping jacks.

Better yet, turn off the TV and get outside! Rake leaves, shovel snow, mow the lawn or wash the car. These are all great workouts in disguise!

Headed to the mall? Before you begin shopping, walk around for 10 minutes...and take the stairs instead of the escalator!

Feel like you are always on an errand? Park your car in a distant parking spot and walk to the entrance of the store. When food shopping, carry your own groceries.

Chained to your desk? Do a few exercises right there! Sit straight in your chair with your feet touching the ground. Point one toe and slowly raise and straighten your leg. Return it to the floor. Complete 8 lifts on each leg. This will work the front of your thigh.

Desperately need to clean the house? Turn on the radio, turn up the volume and sweep the afternoon away!
