Another reason to get eight hours a night! Hitting the snooze button and giving yourself more time to sleep can help you maintain your weight, according to sleep experts. Lack of quality shut-eye can cause weight gain in several ways: For one thing, the longer you're awake, the more food your body needs to provide energy to sustain you. Plus, slacking on sleep will make you feel sluggish, so you're likely to consume extra food to shake off the fatigue, when, in fact, what you really need is some sleep. (Sleeping less won't help you to accomplish more during the day, either: In fact, you'll probably find that cheating yourself of z's will rob you of the energy you require to get things done.) Getting less rest than you need can wreak havoc with your metabolism, causing you to feel hungrier throughout the day and to consume more food as a result. Trackback(0)
