Q: I really want to lose weight, but I just can't seem to find the willpower to stick with it. Any suggestions?

A: The sheer force of your will is not enough to effect real and lasting change in your life - no matter how strong!

When trying to lose weight, focusing on your ultimate weight loss goal can make the challenge of getting there seem like an uphill battle that may never be won. Setting daily and weekly goals, as well as long-term goals, is a much more realistic approach to losing weight. Not only that, goal setting also provides opportunities for a sense of accomplishment along the way.

Remember to make your goals realistic and specific. You can't overhaul your entire diet in one day in the same way that you can't go from a couch potato to a a world-class athlete in a week. Unrealistic expectations for yourself will only cause you to feel frustrated - which can lead to a complete abandonment of your program. Make your goals measurable so you have a way of evaluating your progress and tweaking your goals when necessary.

Empower yourself to modify your lifestyle to lose weight by planning, setting goals, and developing real tactics and strategies. You can do it!
