The Health Bonus: It’s so low in calories. What We Liked Best: A fairly “clean” label – meaning all the ingredients can be pronounced by a 10-year-old. And the taste – according to the company they have “hand-selected jalapeños and chunks of tomatillos, seasoned with a splash of lime and spiked with smoked Spanish paprika.” What We Liked Least: Added sugar is very low on the ingredients list, and probably isn’t needed at all. What It Replaces: Fattening dips and sauces. The Price: A suggested retail price of $3.49 for a 16-ounce bottle. Other Offerings: Mexican Four Cheese Salsa Con Queso, Pico De Gallo, Triple Pepper Salsa, Tequila Lime Salsa. Where to Buy: Target, Wal-Mart, major grocery chains nationwide. Nutritional Information: Amount per 2-tablespoon serving: 15 calories, 0.5g fat, 2g carbs, 0g protein, 230mg sodium. Ingredients: Yellow tomato puree (water, yellow tomato paste), fresh jalapeno peppers, water, tomatillos, fresh onions, salt, cilantro, canola oil, distilled vinegar, lime juice concentrate, sugar, garlic, smoked paprika and natural flavoring. The Why: It’s spicy and delicious and low in calories. Pace has been around for more than 60 years and, to tell you the truth, I would never have guessed they’d come out with a salsa this good. (
