So in keeping with the Grey’s theme, the next Seattle Grace doc we’ll look at is Katherine Heigl, a shining example of good health. I kid...I kid. I’m going to preface this by saying that I am not a big Katherine Heigl fan. I was ambivalent about her until she obnoxiously corrected the announcer who mispronounced her name at the Emmy’s. (Bigger stars have let bigger mistakes slide. It’s called grace.) I liked her even less after she bashed her show’s writers during this year’s Emmy semifinals. Girl needs some etiquette lessons. But anyway. Katherine has said she’s not a fan of strict diets: “I can’t eat only fish and vegetables or work out seven days a week.” But she is yet another proponent of the 5-Factor Diet, the five-meal-a-day plan developed by trainer Harley Pasternak that every star claims to follow. (I’m just guessing: Three of those meals are nicotine and the other two are Diet Coke.) Katherine also says she’s not a fan of the reed-thin prototype—despite, you know, her actual body. Katherine estimates her weight at 120 pounds; at 5’9”, that’s a BMI of 18. She laments, “When I see some of the people who are glorified in magazines these days—who are so thin it’s bordering on sickness—I just feel exhausted.” I have to agree, but then, I don't look like Katherine Heigl. What do you think—can you really speak out against Hollywood's unrealistic standards when you conform to them? Trackback(0)
