Calorie Bargain: Quaker Simple Harvest All Natural Dark Chocolate Chunk Chewy Granola Bars (www.quakersimpleharvest.com)

The Why:  When I first heard about these bars I was skeptical. Typically these large food companies make bars like these filled with ingredients you can’t pronounce.  But these bars are not that. Not only do they taste great, they’re made with decent materials – including whole grain oats Nice job Quaker.

The Health Bonus: Two grams of fiber

What We Liked Best: Tastes pretty amazing – very chocolaty – and the ingredients are not designed for a food chemist.

What We Liked Least: That added sugar. Wish they didn’t use so much of it. Also, didn't love the other bars nearly as much as the chocolate

What It Replaces: Candy bars, energy bars, chips, not eating at all.

The Price: for a suggested retail price of $3.69 per carton of six bars

Other Offerings: Honey Roasted Nut, Cinnamon Brown Sugar with Apples and Cranberries

Where to Buy: Supermarkets nationwide
