Pop quiz. Repurposing prescription meds for weight loss is:
[ ] dangerous
[ ] shady
[ ] super-trendy
[ ] all of the above
The answer is… [x] all of the above! (Of course.) But that’s not stopping anyone in
And it’s not even a well-guarded secret. It’s been linked to the entire train-wreck quartet in the past year. Last year, a Nicole Richie insider told In Touch that the pre-pregnancy starlet was hooked on Adderall. Paris Hilton told Larry King she takes the drug for ADD. Britney blamed her Adderall prescription after she flunked a drug test. And Lindsay Lohan’s dad showed his usual public display of dirty-laundry-airing concern about her use of the drug. The drug has a few other side effects—dizziness, insomnia, heart palpitations, seizures, and long-term liver problems. And the potential for abuse is pretty high, since it’s a mix of amphetamine salts. (Just ask any stressed-out college student.) In other words, it’s no magic bullet. But then, health risks are rarely a concern among skinny starlets. Trackback(0)
