Being tempted by tempeh Print E-mail

To super charge your metabolism, you have to eat protein-rich foods.  HIgh in protein, fiber, and essential fatty acids, tempeh is a soy-based food that is actually fermented cooked soybeans with an added helathy mold.  Yuck, right?!  No!  It tastes soooo good!  It has a taste very similar to mushrooms.  It can be used as a side dish, in your soup, or on top of your favorite salad.  I love the blackened tempeh at Real Food Daily!

Not only is it high in protein, but it also has tons of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals (including saponins and isoflavones).  Back to the fiber thing… it makes you feel fuller for much longer, can lower cholesterol and decrease your chances of developing colon cancer.  Try adding some extra goodness to your already healthy dish!
