Calorie Bargain: Starbucks “Skinny” Menu, including Skinny Mocha and
Skinny Lattes.
The Why: Starbucks has taken a long time to realize that people
do want healthier choices and the nutritional information on
all those Frappacinos and lattes they’re consuming. I never knew that
Starbucks serves 2% fat free milk with all its beverages. The newest
addition to the “Skinny” series is the Skinny Mocha (a tall Caffé Mocha
with sugar-free syrup and nonfat milk), which offers chocolate lovers a
way to indulge without too much guilt
The Health Bonus: You’re still getting 30% of your daily calcium
needs and 9g of protein.
What We Liked Best: The fact that these are significantly lower in
calories than the regular versions.
What We Liked Least: The syrups use artificial sweeteners.
What It Replaces: Regular lattes or Caffé Mocha at about 300
calories with whipped cream.
Other Offerings: Cinnamon Dolce, Hazelnut, Caramel, Vanilla and
Gingerbread
Where to Buy: Any Starbucks (just look up and you’ll see one).
Nutritional Information: 90 calories, 0g fat, 9g protein, 14g
carbs, 125mg Sodium
Ingredients: Espresso coffee, sugar free syrup, skim milk.
