Don't Eat Fish? Get Your Omega 3's Here: Print E-mail

Just because you don't eat fish doesn't mean you have to bypass all the valuable nutrition available in Omega 3 fatty acids. Try some of these alternatives:

Supplements: Take 1-3 grams of fish oil supplement per day. (Of course, doesn't work for vegans, but keep reading).

Flaxseeds: Available as a tastless powder, or a crunchy seed for your salad.

Walnuts: Yummy, but high in calories.

Beans, Beans, Beans: The best ones for Omega 3s are kidney, soy or navy beans. Why not make a three bean salad or some chili?

Canola Oil: All around healthier than vegetable oil anyway.

Enhanced Products: In the same way that your kid's Honeycombs have added ...whatever... other products are now supplementing nutrition. For example, eggs are now available with an extra kick of Omega 3s in them. These come from chickens that are fed a special plant-based diet that aids in the increased content.

Enjoy!
