Note to celebs: Hating on skinny girls does not burn calories, nor does it qualify as “positive body image.” So, stop it. The latest sharp-tongued starlet is... ...Emmy Rossum, who blasted teeny-tiny Hollywood types at a launch party for Rachel Zoe’s new book, Style A to Zoe. Wait, let’s back up for a sec here and appreciate the irony. She was blasting teeny-tiny Hollywood types at a party for the woman who is generally credited for single-handedly promoting the stick-figure trend. Rachel Zoe, if you’re not familiar, is the stylist who—despite having zero formal fashion training—put her strung-out stamp on Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Paris Hilton, and Keira Knightley. Her favorite accessory? Protruding bones. Oh, and she styles Emmy Rossum. But anyway. Of course the topic of weight had to come up at a Rachel Zoe event, and Emmy said, “If that's their normal, natural body type, then that's fine.” So far, so good. “But if people are trying to starve themselves because they think that's beautiful, I think that's totally unhealthy and not cool.” Right again! Oh, wait, you’re not done? “Being model skinny isn't sensual and isn't sexy. I think any guy would prefer a girl with a little meat on her bones.” Meow, and I don’t mean that in a good way. Look, there are women who can eat four slices of pizza without even unbuttoning their size-zero jeans—and to write them all off as “not sexy” is a little harsh. Ahem, Emmy, ever wonder why breast implants are a half-billion dollar industry? Comments like these might sound plucky and affirmative, but they’re actually quite the opposite. Self-acceptance should come from loving who you are—not bashing what you aren’t. Trackback(0)

I think talking about any size and saying that people who look like that are not sexy, is not right. Anyone can be sexy, beautiful, nice or anything, no matter their size

To clarify, I was saying that the implant industry is booming because of hurtful comments like Emmy's. I doubt Emmy would ever dream of saying "I just don't think overweight women are sensual or sexy" -- so she should think twice before hurling that insult at skinny women.

I don't get the breast implants comment. Seems to AGREE with what she said about a little meat. Woemn who look like 10 year old boys are not viewed as sensual or sexy in general (from what I can tell), therefore the breast implants.
I dunno. Maybe you lost me cause I'm tired ;} Write comment
