Nutricise's Fast Food Don'ts Remember the old joke: a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips?

It's easy to eat an entire day's worth of fat, salt, and calories in just one fast food meal. But it's also possible to make wise choices and eat a fairly healthy meal. So, the next time you opt for fast food . . . don't be afraid to "special order."

Don't order items described as super, jumbo, deluxe, double, triple, and extra large. A Super Size French Fry packs in 610 calories! Order a regular or junior-size sandwich instead.

Don't order the fries. As tasty as the greasy things are, fries harbor more fat grams than burgers. So, stick with the sandwich and have a baked potato or bowl of chili instead of fries.

Don't order "value meals," which often include a sandwich, french fries and a soft drink. Value meals may seem like a bargain, but remember, you will end up paying a high price for their extra calories and fat grams.

General Terms to Look For

These words are almost synonymous with "fat" and "calories," so avoid them at all costs.
