Time For a New Diet Print E-mail

I’ve decided that lean fish is the new Pilates. I’m surprised the ocean hasn’t run out yet, because lately every skinny celeb swears they eat nothing but.

So no surprise that lean fish is the secret to Lauren Conrad’s 10-pound weight loss. She reportedly follows a steady diet of whole wheat toast with PB for breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, a fish-and-veggie dinner, and almonds for dessert. (If fish is the new Pilates, by the way, almonds are the new…something. My point is, enough with the almonds, people!)

But she also credits a workout regimen that includes squats, lunges, push-ups, and pull-ups. I’m all about the new trend of using your own body weight for resistance—it cuts out the need for a gym, and it forces you to use more muscles than you would on a machine (which isolates muscles). Plus it’s perfect for celebs, who spend a lot of time stuck in hotel rooms—or just don’t feel like dodging paparazzi en route to the gym.

(P.S. I learned this trick somewhere recently, though now I forget where: If you can’t do a pull-up, just grab the bar, jump to the “up” position, and try to lower yourself back down as slowly as possible. After enough “negative pull-ups,” you’ll eventually be able to pull yourself back up.)

i lauren conrad, but did she really need to lose 10lbs? I'm not so sure. PS- How did she cook so much fish in that itty bitty apartment? yuck! Well, she does eat out a lot I guess. Interesting article!
