The women in Hollywood get scrutinized for what they eat and how often they work out, so I figured it was time to put the guys on shout again. Especially since I’ve come across two stories recently of guys going a little too far.

The first was George Clooney, who was looking much skinnier than usual at a recent film festival. His secret? "I've been riding a bike in Como up a mountain. Eighteen miles straight up." Eighteen miles? Up a mountain? Jeez, no wonder he’s looking a little slender these days. Hopefully he’s loading up on plenty of protein and water before he hits the road—that’s like the Spinning class from hell.

The other not-so-healthy guy is will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. Will admits his busy schedule doesn’t always allow time for small luxuries like, y’know, eating. “People say the day is short. It ain't,” he says. “I know I can do a lot in one day. It all depends on how you do it. Maybe I don't eat. I don't eat or drink water so my knuckles are always ashy, anyway, and my hair's brittle, but that's cool.”

Hello—if Keira Knightley admitted to riding a bike up a mountain every day or skipping meals because she’s “too busy,” the tabs would have a field day. It would be a cover line, at least. As Will himself would say, “What ever happened to fairness and equality?”
