Calorie Bargain: Brothers-All-Natural Freeze Dried Fruit Crisps, Fuji Apples Print E-mail

The Why:  This is a really wonderful snack—we all loved it. It’s lower in calories than their fresh equivalents, adds no sugar, no preservatives and tastes great. The Fuji Apples and Asian Pears are about 40 calories per bag. And if you have kids, they'll love them, too. These are perfect alternative to "junk" that can be put in their lunch box. They can even be stored in your car or bag in case you or anyone in your family gets a case of the hungries.

The Health Bonus: Two grams of fiber per bag!  Plus, you get all the great benefits of fruit (e.g., antioxidants) in a snack sized bag.

What We Liked Best: The portion controlled bags, and that there are absolutely no additives, preservatives, or added sugar—just 100 percent natural fruit.

What We Liked Least: They go fast, so just make sure to have only one bag...resist the urge to grad a second. And if you leave an opened bag unfinished, they tend to get soggy quickly.

What It Replaces:  Potato Chips, Pretzels, Candy

The Price: About $.70 per bag (based on buying 100 bags).

Offerings: Banana Fruit Crisps, Fuji Apple Fruit Crisps, Asian Pear Crisps, Pineapple Fruit Crisps, Strawberry-Banana Fruit Crisps, Strawberry Fruit Crisps

Website: www.brothersallnatural.com

Where to Buy: Available nationwide at Costco Wholesale, Whole Foods and other chains.  They’re also sold on their website.

Nutritional Information: Serving: ˝ cup, 39 Calories, 0g Fat, 0g Cholesterol, 0g Sodium, 9g Carbs, 2g Fiber, 6g Sugars, 0g Protein.

My son LOVES these, I was looking for a healthy snack for myself but my one year old can't get enough. In fact if I forget to send one with him, his day care always lets me know! They are now thinking about getting these for the other kids.
