When stars go running, it’s usually a leisurely jog around Runyon   Canyon in their Adidas-by Stella yoga pants with a cute puppy in tow. Then there are the celebs who take the extra mile—or 26, to be exact—and enter the sweaty, blister-ridden, nauseated, clammy, Gatorade-swigging, wholly unglamorous world of marathon running. And they’re actually pretty good at it.

Here are a few celebs and their marathon times, in order of speediness:

George W. Bush, Houston Marathon, (Am I the only one who's surprised?)

Will Ferrell, Boston Marathon,

Michael Waltrip, Las Vegas   Marathon , 3:59:23

P. Diddy, NYC Marathon, (He wanted to beat Oprah; he did.)

Oprah, Marine Corps Marathon , 4:29:20

Al Gore, Marine Corps Marathon , 4:58:25

Mario Lopez, Boston   Marathon , 5:41:41

Ali Landry, Boston Marathon, (This explains why Mario’s time was so slow; it was a show-of-solidarity thing. Unlike their two-week marriage.)

Freddie Prinze Jr., LA Marathon , 5:50:49

David Lee Roth, NYC Marathon, 6:

I’m also giving an honorable mention to Felicity Huffman, who regularly competes in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon for charity. She anchored the second-place co-ed team in the celebrity relay division, although I’m going to go out on a limb and guess she didn’t run a full 26-mile leg, considering her team’s time was 1:46:07.8. Then again, considering she was the biggest star at the event—unless you want to make an argument for David Duchovny or the guy who played Zach Morris on Saved by the Bell—it’s probably best that they didn’t ask celebs to run a full tri.

That said, training for a marathon, half-marathon, triathlon, sprint, 5K, or whatever can give you a good source of motivation, because no one wants to be the last to limp across the finish line. One good site for training tips: http://www.therunnersguide.com/marathontraining/. Who knows? Maybe you can beat Oprah too.
