A Li'l Ego Boost from the VS Supermodels Print E-mail

There's basically one cardinal rule in modeling, which in SAT terms looks something like: YOU < 0. It's no secret that the Victoria's Secret models don't fit into the scary-skinny mold, but I was surprised to see them speaking out against the fashion industry's standards.

In a recent issue of People, five of the catalog's top models ranted about diets, runway shows, and impossibly small sample sizes. My favorites:

IZABEL GOULART: "I'm not a good person to talk to about diets. If I had to only eat salads, I'd kill myself!"

ALESSANDRA AMBROSIO: "When I was 14 and 15, I was super-skinny. I did a lot of runway shows then. But I love food and I don't like doing runway shows. It's a reward not to have to!"

ADRIANA LIMA: "Now models are very, very skinny, but I refuse to lose weight. I look healthy and you can see that in my skin. Compare us to the other girls: They look pale, like they need a little carrot juice."

Love it!
