When it comes to exercise, many of us don’t get excited at the prospect of sweating it out at the gym or running in the park. And let’s face it. If you’re not energized, it’s hard to work up the motivation to continue to be active -- despite all the research showing physical activity’s benefits for weight control and general health. Luckily, there are more ways to stay active besides going to the gym, running or biking in your neighborhood. The following are less common activities that may sound more exciting to you, along with the calories an average person (155 pounds) will burn after one hour of activity, and the food equivalents for that number of calories. (Assume slightly more calories burned the more you weigh.)
