Crown Shakur Merely The Latest Victim Of Radical Veganism Print E-mail

I'm welcoming the scorn of vegans again, but this story cannot be ignored. I may even have one threaten to sue me for challenging their diet. But this is whacked!

Did you see this Associated Press story about the vegan couple who was sent to prison for literally starving their newborn baby to death? Oh my goodness, this is so heartbreaking and further exemplifies why veganism is downright dangerous as a dietary approach.

Confirming the study that found vegans are brainless, Lamont Thomas and Jade Sanders were given mandatory life prison sentences for failing to provide ample nutrition to their precious little one named Crown Shakur.

After being fed a high-carb, low-fat diet with no animal products--mostly soy milk and apple juice--in the six short weeks of his life, Crown passed away due to starvation after shrinking down to 3 1/2 pounds prior to death.

This happened three years ago, but a judge found the couple guilty of malice murder, felony murder, involuntary manslaughter and cruelty to children earlier this month. Although their attorney said the vegan parents had no idea their extreme lifestyle choice was killing their baby until just before he died, the jury was convinced they were guilty of nutritional neglect.

Prosecuting attorney Chuck Boring said the parents made bad choices.

"The child died because he was not fed. Period," he said.

Despite the ruling, Sanders remained in denial to the end.

"I loved my son—and I did not starve him," she said.

Vegans are an interesting breed of human being that claim to be eating the "perfect" diet that is most sensitive to the welfare of animals. But what are they doing to the people--and BABIES--who are eating this way?

While vegans want to be convinced the Atkins diet is healthy, I think it's high time we turn that question around. It's hard to believe vegans are envious of low-carb and they'll never admit it in public, but they are. They KNOW we are eating healthy and they are not.

These people are evil to the core as I shared in this recent podcast which instigated a hateful reaction to have my head on a platter wanting to have my show discontinued. It didn't happen because these people are a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

It gives me no pleasure to see life being destroyed because of veganism, but we need to look at the obvious. This diet killed Crown and robbed him of the opportunity to enjoy a long and healthy life. Remember that the next time a vegan starts spouting off how his diet is saving the planet while keeping him healthy. You'll know the truth!

Is it any wonder this vegan is a member of the Communist Party? Coincidence? I think not!

What is the point of bashing each other relentlessly? No one gets a point across by being malicious and throwing blanket-statements at anything challenging. I couldn't bring myself to finish reading the article after I read,"vegans are brainless." I also get ill reading the anti-meat rhetoric from vegans. Do what's best for you and your lifestyle, and stop trying to convert people to your food religion. Would any of you act so callous if your name and photo were posted alongside your commentary?

There are thousands of children that are raised as vegans from infancy that have not perished. I say that this catastrophe is a result of stupidity. The parents of this child should have been more informed. I find it very strange that they did not seek medical care for their child when they realized their baby was turning into a skeleton. Does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture? Obviously the parents were trying to kill their child by starving him. Just because they starved him on an vegan diet means nothing. They could have starved him on a "normal" diet. I believe that they wanted to kill this child.

Malnutrition is malnutrition regardless of the choice of lifestyle. It is the responsibility of every parent to make educated decisions regarding the nutritional intake of his/her child. If a vegan child dies due to the parent's inability or unwillingness to provide the appropriate and necessary nutrients for the current stage of life, that parent should be held accountable and, if nothing else, educated concerning the nutritional requirements of the growing human body. It is sad that we are willing to point an accusing finger at these parents because they are vegan. We should be pointing our finger and screaming to high heaven if someone is neglecting his/her child(ren) without regard to their diet. That being said, I challenge you to evaluate the general physical and mental health of the vegan American population compared to that of your average run of the mill omnivorous American. On the whole, vegans are generally far more educated concerning the food that goes into their bodies. You will come across people in all walks of life who, for whatever reason, kill with kindness. I believe that this is the case with the child in question. I ask that you turn that finger around and evaluate what you put into your body every day. Perhaps you have children. If you feed them an omnivorous diet, you are exposing them to a far greater risk of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes to name only a few. I know you have heard it all before, so I won't bore you by repeating ad nauseum. I would just like to prompt you to read the research about the somatic cell counts that are allowed in the milk in the united states. These somatic cells (referred to by some as pus) are natural and normal at certain levels. However, we are ok with allowing somatic cell counts in milk several thousand times higher than what occurs naturally. These high cell counts are a result of the poor conditions in which these animals are kept, the antibiotics that are given to them in large quantities, and the hormones they are fed that allow their bodies to produce unnatural amounts of milk. I am asking you to evaluate what you are putting in your body when you consume animal products and consider the possibility that the majority of vegans are very well educated and seek out advice and support from medical professionals, nutritionsist, and dieticians to ensure that they are maintaining the appropriate nutritional balance required for good health. Do you have your blood checked regularly to be sure that you are getting what you need? Do you really know what you are putting in your body? Do you think about it...animal cruelty aside? It's very easy to point the finger at vegans as bizarre extremists because we a*sociate them with the wild advocates who throw red paint at people and hold ma*s boycots, anoying the hell out of anyone who doesn't care about their cause. It is very easy to see them as the 'other' when you read about some well meaning uneducated mother and father neglecting and murdering their child by malnourishment. However, I repeat: It is not veganism in itself that leads to such a problem. It is lack of education and perhaps resources. Let go of your anger. It's not helping anyone. That goes for both sides of this debate.

Ouch! Isn't it amazing how vegans prove all the things that are said about them when they simply open their mouths? Hee hee!

There are always extreme (idiotic and brainless) sides to ALL viewpoints - in particular yours and these idiots who starved their baby by feeding it a vegan diet - everyone knows the perfect food for a baby's first six months of life and then tapering off over two years is breast milk regardless if the mother is a vegan or an idiot who eats cancer-causing, chemical-laden, artificial-hormone-laden animal flesh. NOT COW'S MILK and NOT FRUIT JUICE AND SOYMILK!
And your lack of intelligence (and anyone who agrees with you) is proven by your comments saying ALL VEGANS are brainless. So going by your theory, someone who may be the genius equivalent of Einstein and Schweizer, is intelligent (in your opinion) as long as they eat meat? How stupid a belief is THAT? Einstein and Schweizer were BOTH vegans/vegetarians.
