LL’s Workout Print E-mail

As I mentioned last week, Timbaland is looking to LL Cool J for fitness inspiration. So when I came across one of LL’s circuit training schedules—designed for squeezing in time-sensitive workouts on the road—I figured it was only fitting to post it. Pay attention, Tim!

Disclaimer: LL is slightly insane. I don’t think any mere mortal should attempt his workout without some serious prep work—a light jog, a few push-ups, maybe carrying a heavy bag of groceries or two. Dude’s been in training since I was in middle school.

LL’S TRAINING CIRCUIT

Five-minute warm-up (jogging, jumping jacks, etc)

Chest circuit #1: Bench press (10 reps), explosive pushups (10 reps; hands should leave the floor), then jump rope for one minute. Repeat.

Chest Circuit #2: Bench press (10 reps), cable crossover (10 reps), incline run for one minute, then do the hanging running man (10 reps; hang from a pull-up bar and “pedal” your legs). Repeat.

Bicep circuit: Standing barbell curl (4-6 reps), preacher curl (12 reps), then one minute of mountain climbers (remember this from gym class? Start in push-up position, step one foot towards your hands, then jump and switch legs).

Oh—and you only get a 90-second rest between circuits. Enjoy!
