written by Ca*si, September 09, 2008
I saw one other comment that made my jaw drop!!! My 13 month old son was holding a Juicy Juice bottle in his hands and the bottle exploded on him and the cap launched into the ceiling and damanged the ceiling!!! When I called Juicy Juice they acted like it was no big deal! So buyer beware....the bottles are dangerous and mind you this was a new bottle not one that I had stored for a while!!!!

Not everyone has luck getting their kids to eat vegetarians. As long as it is done in moderation (as everything else should be), I don't see anything wrong with it. It might have the same calories as a soda, but a soda has empty calories.

I had a bottle of this in my fridge opened for a couple of weeks. Shook it, and when I went to take off the cap it outright exploded. All over my friggin kitchen. BEWARE!!!!! Upon reading label, it says in tiny letters- use within 5 days of opening. I called company and said I do not wish anything except an acknowledgement letter, which NEVER arrived.

Well. It's not that it's "bad," per se, but I don't think that you should give up trying to get your 2 year old to eat veggies. I have a 4 1/2 year old, and I'm very active in the foods she eats. You have to eat them. Read the article I wrote on preschool nutrition...it will help http://www.dietdetective.com/content/view/2198/159/

Yes, of course kids SHOULD eat vegetables instead of drink them- but you try getting a picky 2 year old to eat up a serving of vegetables- just can't MAKE that happen sometimes; at least with the juice they are geting a little more nutrition from vegetables. If the juice is diluted with a little water and is only given in moderation- maybe 1 serving a day, how terrible is that?

A new product that just launched from Nestles annoys me—it’s called Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise, the first 100 percent fruit and vegetable juice made especially for kids. The press release says: “Moms have a new ally to help increase their kids' fruit and vegetable servings.” Really? Do they? I don’t think so. This is just another way to get kids to drink sweet beverages under the guise of health. The juice is still 120 calories per 8 ounces. Of course kids need calories, but that’s the same amount of calories as in soda. And yes, this is significantly better nutritionally than soda, but it is still not something that a child should be drinking as a regular beverage. According to the release, 70 percent of kids age 2-9 are not consuming the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables. I understand that, so why can’t kids eat fruit and vegetables, why drink juice? Just take a look at the childhood obesity rates –and sweet beverages are part of the problem. There are so many nutritional benefits that come along with EATING fruits and veggies, instead of drinking them. Read the
