A Whole Slew of Fitness Tips Print E-mail

The new issue of InStyle highlights the best bodies in Hollywood , along with a tip for toning their standout feature.

No major surprises on the list: Scarlett, Halle , Reese, Cameron and the dueling Jessicas. Apparently Scarlett works her curves by doing chin-ups and lunges to exhaustion. (No “three sets of 12” for her!) Biel works her booty with resistance bands. Alba uses a Bosu balance trainer for crunches. All good ideas—just don’t skip out on cardio and expect to spot-tone your way to Tinseltown perfection. Every one of these girls owns an iPod and a good pair of running shoes, and they use the hell out of them. Don’t be fooled.

 

But I think Reese’s tip was my personal favorite—she hikes backwards. It’s an easy way to ramp up an elliptical workout, plus it’s gotta look hilarious if you catch her doing it.

By the way, this isn’t relevant and she didn’t get the InStyle stamp of approval, but I’m excited anyway: Kate Bosworth looks semi-normal again! Now that she’s off death watch, I’m going to keep an ear out for her (obviously much-improved) diet and fitness plan.
