Calorie Bargain: FruitaBu Fruit Twirls The Why: You know that aisle in the grocery with all the junky, high calorie sweet snacks? The one that’s usually frequented by moms, snatching up boxes of fruit-flavored, sugary packets to throw in their kids’ lunch bags? Well this calorie bargain will give you a feel-good reason to go down that aisle. Kids will love ‘em, and even adults can look forward to this fun, tangy snack. The twirls are a long, thin strip of dried fruit puree, pressed onto a paper a piece of waxed paper and all rolled up. These are a great, portion-control snack, and since there are about 18 inches of fruit to enjoy, it lasts a long time. Part of the fun is picking your twirl-eating, style. Some of our tasters unrolled the whole thing first. Others went the silly route, and ate and unrolled as they went along. The Health Bonus: Each twirl has 1 serving of organic fruit. What We Liked Best: The all natural ingredient list, grabability, and tangy fruit kick. What We Liked Least: Not much bad to say here…except maybe that you have to deal with a piece of sticky paper… The Price: $3.69-$3.99 for a box of 6. Offerings: Available in Smoooshed Strawberry, Smoooshed Apple, and Smoooshed Grape. Website: http://www.fruitabu.com/ Where to Buy: They are available nationwide in natural health food stores and major grocery chains. You can also visit their site to purchase online, or look up a store near you.
