Burgers and Yoga? Well, Actually, No. Print E-mail

This is a first—an actress who isn’t claiming she eats whatever she wants and takes the occasional Pilates class to tone up.

You’d think it would be obvious—to stay slim, you have to eat right and exercise often. But for some reason, starlets desperately need to be perceived as natural skinny-minnies with effortless weight-loss routines. So they credit yoga (bonus points for the mind-body connection!) for their shape and tip off the paparazzi every time they eat a French fry in public.

No, seriously, I’m sure Nicole Richie just hates getting “caught” at In ‘n’ Out Burger.

So I was surprised to see Jaime Pressly revealing her typical diet and exercise plan, which is actually kind of regimented. She told Self magazine, “For God’s sake, you have to work out! Before I was pregnant, I did kickboxing, martial arts and free weights five times a week. Now my workouts are lighter, which is hard for me because I’m used to being a G.I. Jane at the gym.” She also splurges on chili-cheese fries and chili-cheeseburgers—but only once a week. “I like to give my body just enough energy to be able to burn it off before the next meal,” she says.

Strict diet? Boot camp fitness? She’s like the Penn and Teller of skinny actresses. Love it.
