If you asked me who the next suddenly-skinny starlet would be, I never would have guessed Courtney Love. (Probably would’ve gone with Rumer Willis.) But Courtney it is—and since she’s incapable of doing anything under the radar, she dropped 44 pounds, invested in a bunch of bikinis, and went on a paparazzi-seeking mission in
I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. When Courtney decides on an image change, she goes for it—remember her “serious actress” phase? Practically within the month she was a Golden Globe nominee. She may be nuttier than a PBJ sandwich, but when she puts her mind to something, watch out. And according to her website, she’s been putting her mind to macrobiotics. Let’s hark back to the days when Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow were BFF—they bonded over the whole macrobiotics thing for awhile, which sparked a huge trend. (It fizzled out after Madonna discovered Kabbalah and Gwyn discovered pizza.) Now Courtney’s reviving interest in the super-strict diet. Although her rep says she’s been eating lots of veggies and fish (and doing yoga, which is pretty much de rigueur for a celebrity health kick), it’s a wee bit more complicated than that. It whittles the menu down to only whole grains, fish, legumes and seasonal veggies. Off the bill of fare, according to alterna-health guru Dr. Weil, are “meats, eggs, cheese, sugar and sweets, most spices, coffee, alcohol, and most fruit.” Look, if my only food options were barley and cauliflower, I’d be down a few stone, too. But I guess that’s the point. Trackback(0)
