So, I was going to mention Katie Holmes and her insane post-baby weight loss when I was talking about post-baby weight a few weeks ago, but then I didn’t. Partly because I was tired of hearing about her and didn’t want to be part of the problem, and partly because her weight loss had an element of ickiness—word was, Tom had her hire a trainer to get back in shape before the wedding. Wouldn’t want a fat bride, you know. Even if she just delivered your child. But as hard as I’m trying to ignore her, her weight has become a glaring issue lately. She’s reportedly down to 125 pounds—and the girl is five foot nine. As far as BMI goes, that is just teetering on the edge of normal. And I’m not even sure that’s a good estimate. She was all ribs and collarbone at the Oscars, and she doesn’t even look like an oaf next to her shopping buddy Posh Spice, which is quite the achievement.
An insider says she lost the weight by sticking to a 1,000-calorie-a-day high-protein diet. I think pretty much every diet expert—except the ones on celeb payroll, obviously—would agree that’s the Worst Diet Ever. The folks on Survivor could probably scrounge up a thousand calories in fish and non-poisonous berries if they tried. It’s just not enough food, and probably explains why she looks a little skeletal nowadays. Oh, and she’s working out daily, too—so how many of those calories do you want to bet she’s burning off? ha ha you're still funny. 1000 calories per day working out daily is crazy, but then again we're talking about Tom Cruise and whoever is unfortunate to be with him at the moment
