Around 40 percent of moms gain more weight than they should during pregnancy. Celebs are no exception—remember Kate Hudson’s 60-pound weight gain? And yet, mere weeks after giving birth, most of them are already back in their skinny jeans. So how do celeb moms manage to defy the laws of nature? Well, for starters, they have an excess of time. As soon as the baby’s born, a nanny swoops in to handle the unglamorous stuff (diapers, Doodlebops, etc) so the star will have plenty of time to hit the gym with a team of trainers. And while most moms are feasting on dry Cheerios, celebs can afford to enlist a personal chef to bring in low-cal gourmet meals. Michelle Branch and Tori Spelling both get daily deliveries from FreshDining.com, a service that’s available to any mom who lives in the Tinseltown metro area and has $50 a day to burn. And, most importantly, they need to lose the weight fast. While the average mom can carry around a few extra pounds with nary a comment from her tactful friends, the average celeb may have a multi-million-dollar movie deal riding on the promise of her fitting into the size-2 wardrobe. So it’s no wonder that they treat post-baby weight loss like a military operation. Meanwhile, they explain their post-baby weight loss with a blasé, “Oh, I just burn so many calories chasing the baby around.” But there are a few stars who actually admit that they worked their butts off for their post-baby bods.
