Holiday Slimdown Secrets, Part 2 Print E-mail

Just got back from committing a series of nutritional crimes this weekend. Now I’m in the clear…at least until next weekend’s New Years Eve festivities. That said, here’s some more insight from celebs on making it through the holidays without having to dig your fat pants out of storage.

Because let’s be honest. Mistakes will be made. Resolutions will be broken. Calories will be over-consumed. But all is not lost, as long as you atone for those mistakes. And that means some QT at the gym this month.

“I think you should give yourself permission to enjoy the holidays,” Daisy Fuentes says. “Keep up with your workout routine, but indulge a little bit—otherwise it’s torture, and you’re not really enjoying yourself. A little eggnog never killed anyone!” Don’t ignore the little nugget of truth hidden in there. Keep up with your workout routine. You know you’ve already seen A Christmas Story several dozen times, so switch off the TV and go for a walk.

Diane Farr’s holiday advice is simple: “Jog 20 minutes every other day, and you can eat whatever the hell you want.” That might work if you have divine metabolism. For the rest of us, make it 20 minutes every day, and you can eat whatever the hell you want…in moderation.
