Stress can crop up even on the days you expect to breeze through with nary a harsh moment. But stretching can provide quick, easy relief from that pent-up anxiety.

Stress can crop up even on the days you expect to breeze through with nary a harsh moment. But stretching can provide quick, easy relief from that pent-up anxiety. Aside from relaxing your body, it can help improve your flexibility, reduce muscle tension and promote good circulation.

If you can't set aside time to go to the gym to do a full-fledged stretching routine, try closing your eyes, breathing deeply and relaxing your arms at your sides.

Sitting up tall, slowly tilt your head to the left, then roll it forward and over to the right side, then back to center.

Now lace together the fingers of both hands, turn your palms away from you and push outward from your chest, rounding your back and extending your arms until you feel a stretch across your shoulder blades.

Hold for five seconds, breathing slowly and deeply throughout, then repeat.

There-your tension is gone.
