If there's one thing that Americans of all political viewpoints can agree on, it is that the actions in Washington give us indigestion. Whatever it is that you hope for from Congress it is pretty certain, unless you're a lobbyist it seems too few spend way too much to make whatever the problems are worse. |

I never get tired of hearing about people making the necessary changes in their life to get fit and healthy (check out this list of low-carb weight loss success stories!). So I was absolutely thrilled and inspired after reading this Nashua (NH) Telegraph story about a man named Ray Hunting who lost an unbelievable 175 pounds--chopping himself in two!
"I lost half myself," he exclaimed.
Hunting, 28, had allowed his weight to creep up to 350 pounds and was wearing size 60 inch pants, 3XL shirts, and was absolutely miserable with the life he had been given. The more I read his story, I couldn't help but see myself in it time and time again which I will illustrate in a moment. |

I really think this is a true travesty that this drug was put in the hands of the American people. It’s bad enough that the FDA allows all those unhealthy and potentially dangerous weight-loss supplements – Now they’re letting this ridiculous drug be sold OTC. You have to be kidding me. This stuff has such terrible side effects, and without serious behavioral counseling and the help of a professional, there will BE NO LONG TERM WEIGHT LOSS. Even the best case scenario is only a 5% weight loss. And the research studies that support this weight loss all include behavioral counseling. They think a few booklets are gonna count as behavioral counseling? What drugs is Glaxo taking that are giving them the confidence to believe that this is really gonna actually work? Oh right—they don’t care whether it works or not. And why do they think that they’re gonna do better than Roche, who spent a fortune trying to market this and make it work via prescription? Check out the NY Daily News |

Here’s what happens when you don’t drop your baby weight fast enough in Hollywood: You start seeing rumors that you’re expecting again. Just ask Reese Witherspoon. Last spring, Star plastered her face on the cover of the magazine, along with an equally glowy pic of Julia Roberts and the headline, “Reese & Julia: Baby #3!” |
