Did you even notice that alcohol has no nutritional information? I've noticed. Today, a coalition of public interest groups called for the federal government to end 30 years of "deliberations and fact finding" by launching a ad campaign and lobbying effort to require standardized labeling information on beer, wine and distilled spirits products. What do you think?

With food everywhere on a cruise, how do you eat low-carb?
It's back to real life again after a fabulous cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico. WOW, what a time getting to meet so many amazing people who have been a part of my life through my blog! I wanted to share with you pictures of exactly what I ate while I was on board the ship for the five-day cruise to show you CAN eat low-carb while on a cruise. |

One of the most asked about aspects of livin' la vida low-carb has got to the issue of ketosis. There is so much misinformation about there about this very natural state that the body goes through when you are on a low-carb diet (primarily confusing it with a serious condition that diabetics must be careful of called ketoacidosis--NOT the same as ketosis). As such, there may be confusion that lingers out there among my readers who are just learning about this way of eating. |

Okay, so this isn't totally celeb-related, but I just had to share. I just read about a new children's book on the market called "My Beautiful Mommy," which hopes to teach kids about the ins and outs of plastic surgery. The author says it's all about fostering understanding, so kids won't be scared when they see their mom in the hospital. Click through for the link, and see what you think. (Wait, did I just rhyme? This children's book thing is getting to me!) |
