I don't know about you but I am always very confused when it comes eating salmon. Should I eat farmed or fresh? Most articles about eating fish publish charts on safe fish and fish to avoid and I find that salmon makes it into both columns. |

Turns out I’m not the only one who gets tired of hearing celebs attribute their fab figures to the occasional tree pose.
Hollywood
fitness guru Gunnar Peterson recently revealed that he’s trained some of those celebs, and—surprise, surprise—they’ve been working a little harder than they let on. |

Hardee's one of the few restaurants still catering to low-carbers
You can literally count on one hand the number of restaurants in America who care enough about people who are livin' la vida low-carb to offer them their very own menu: Cracker Barrel, Captain D's, and Hardee's. That's pretty much it! |

My brother Kevin shaved his head, but hasn't cut any weight lately
It's been a long time since I've updated you about my brother Kevin. I apologize for that since so many of you have been asking about how he is doing since his weight and health have been major issues that I have blogged about often at "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb." The reason is not that I don't want to update you, but that there's not much new to share.
Now that it has been a little over two years since I first blogged about Kevin's morbid obesity, I am pleased to share that he is at least keeping his weight and health relatively stable (not GREAT news to share, but a step in the right direction). This issue has been a source of grave concern for me over the past few years since I have been able to overcome my weight and health issues and now I feel helpless to help my brother do the same thing for himself.

People who shed weight and want to keep it off might benefit from monthly personal contact interventions, researchers reported at the American Heart Association’s Conference on Nutrition, Physical Activity and Metabolism. Results of the study will also be simultaneously published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
In a test of three ways that might help people maintain weight loss, those who received monthly personal counseling were best at keeping off unwanted pounds. Overall, 42 percent of the study members maintained at least a 4-kilogram (9-pound) weight loss for 30 months. |
