After the whole head-shaving, rehab-ditching, umbrella-wielding debacle a few weeks ago, I had filed Britney away as off-limits. She was too depressing to talk about. But lately, there’s no ignoring her. She’s whipped herself into shape—and despite rampant rumors of plastic surgery, she swears it’s through healthy living. You know, the kind of healthy living Britney has always been known for. (Oh wait, maybe I’m thinking of the wrong person.)

I guess sometimes it’s not enough to live off of lean meats, steamed veggies, and an IV drip of Starbucks coffee. A British tabloid just released a list of some of the craziest celebrity diets, and…well, crazy is an understatement. Here are a few of my personal favorites.

This is a first—an actress who isn’t claiming she eats whatever she wants and takes the occasional Pilates class to tone up.

You’d think it would be obvious—to stay slim, you have to eat right and exercise often. But for some reason, starlets desperately need to be perceived as natural skinny-minnies with effortless weight-loss routines. So they credit yoga (bonus points for the mind-body connection!) for their shape and tip off the paparazzi every time they eat a French fry in public.

I don’t know if you read last week’s National Enquirer, but if you happened to have a long wait at the grocery store recently, you probably know that both Kelly Clarkson and Mandy Moore are suffering from a dangerous eating disorder. It’s called “gaining weight in Hollywood .”
