There are a lot of marketing messages trying to get you to eat this or drink that, and while some are fact, many are fictions and fads. Here are the latest fads, foods and fictions on your supermarket shelves. 

 
Health Food Shockers
You've been watching your weight for months now -- you've even started to eat a healthier diet, but you can't quite figure out why the scale won't budge. One of the reasons could be your favorite "health" foods, which could be more appropriately named "stealth" foods because of all the calories and fat in each serving.
 
The New Candy Bar
I was in a hotel recently, and I overheard two overweight women by a vending machine discussing whether or not it was "okay" to eat an "energy bar" (yes, right next to the Snickers, Milky Way, and chips was a Power Bar).
 
Salad Sabotage
What could possibly be fattening about a salad? Well, according to the USDA, the average woman, ages 19 to 50, gets more fat from salad dressing than from any other food source, and that's not including the various other toppings we pile on our salads.
